Al Lehman, Winterset

Albert Charles Lehman, 71, died June 21, 1993 at Hillside Convalescent Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. Lehman was born January 4, 1922 in Macksburg to Frank and Georgia (Haymond) Lehman. He married Emogene Allen on September 17, 1942 in Princeton, Mo. He worked as an officer with the Winterset Police Dept. for 24 years and was Police Chief for 12 years. He was a member of the Madison County Peace Officers Association and the First Christian Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers.

Surviving relatives include his wife Emogene of Winterset; a son, Cory Lehman and wife Shelley of Winterset; a daughter, Tami Little of Winterset; four grandchildren, Tiffany and Dee Dee Little and Kyle and Trevor Lehman, all of Winterset; and three sisters-in-law, Murriel and Stella Lehman, both of Winterset and Navona Lehman of Des Moines.

Al Lehman, 71, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Monday at Hillside Convalescent Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Collins Funeral Home, and burial will be in Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. Lehman was born in Macksburg and lived in Madison County most of his life. He was a police officer 24 years and was chief of police in Winterset for 12 years. He had been a member of Madison County Peace Officers Association and First Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Emogene; a son, Cory, and a daughter, Tami Little, both of Winterset; and four grandchildren.
