Ralph Benjamin Stringham, 88, died August 11, 1993 at Winterset Care Center. Funeral services will be held Fri., Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Earlham First Presbyterian Church with burial at Eaarlham Cemetery.

Mr. Stringham was born December 18, 1904 in Guthrie County to Benjamin and Martha (Raber) Stringham. He married Inez Little on November 21, 1939 in Newton. He was a breeder of Clydesdale horses and in 1984 he received an award from the Clydesdale Breeders of the United States for 50 years of support. He also served as the first president of the Madison County Shorthorn Association and had served as a 4-H leader.

He is survived by his wife, Inez of Earlham; a daughter, Zelpha Kay Henderson and husband Bert of Castalia; two gandchildren, Helen Wood of Minneapolis, Minn. and Ralph Henderson of Lakewood, Colo. anad one siser, Klara Bennett of Dows.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
