Winterset Madisonian - Wed., March 20, 1963

Dennis E. Lorimor was born Dec. 22, 1947, at Dexter, a son of Evans and Maxine Lorimor. He received all of his education in the Earlham schools. He had been active in Boy Scouting and 4-H club work, and had a special interest in science, having exhibited at the Iowa State Science fairs of the last two years, winning special recognition last year.

He was also active in band, and in athletics at the Earlham school, where he was a freshman student at the time of his death.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian church at Earlham, where he was an officer of the local Youth Fellowship.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Karen Ann, who is a student at the State University of Iowa in Iowa City. He also leaves his maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Earlham Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. Dean Redshaw. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery. Crowds attending the services over-flowed into the Masonic building, where loud speakers had been installed.

DENNIS EVANS LORIMOR

Dennis Evans Lorimor, son of Evans and Maxine Lorimor, was born December 22, 1947 at Dexter and died March 15, 1963 in accident near Earlham. He received all his education in the Earlham schools. He had been a Boy Scout and participated in 4-H work. In school he was active in the bands and in athletics. He had a special interest in science, having exhibited in Iowa State Science Fairs in the past two years and won special recognition last year for his project.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Earlham and was currently an officer of the local Presbyterian Youth Fellowship. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister, Karen Ann, his maternal grandmother, paternal grandfather, and many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as a great many friends of all ages.

Services for Dennis Lorimor were held Monday, March 18 at the First Presbyterian church of Earlham at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Dean R. Redshaw conducted the services with Evans Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.
