Funeral services for Faye Evelyn Leeper will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at the First Christian Church in Winterset with Rev. David Livingston officiating. Burial will be at the Penn Center Cemetery. Mrs. Leeper died Monday, April 21, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 86.
Born on Aug. 17, 1893 in Sheldon, she was the daughter of Charlie and Laura Thomas Nolte. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Lloyd Leeper on May 14, 1913, at Dexter. He preceded her in death in 1954.
Mrs. Leeper lived in Madison County since 1913 and was a member of the First Christian Church, CWF group and the Golden Age Club.
Surviving are five children, Harold Leeper of Avon Lake, Richard Leeper of Carlisle, Russell Leeper of Earlham, Irene Clague of Earlham and Ruby Robinson of Winterset; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Orville Nolte of Sun City, Ariz., and Willard Nolte of Atlantic; and two sisters, Fern Carrington of Des Moines and Mildred Ellis of Atlantic.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Mildred and Evelyn; and a brother, Ed Nolte.

Faye Evelyn Leeper, daughter of Charles and Laura Nolte, was born on August 17, 1893. She quietly passed away in her sleep after a months illness in the Mercy Hospital, in Des Moines, on April 21, 1980, at the age of 86 years 8 months and 4 days.
Faye was born in Sheldon, Iowa, and moved with her family to Dexter where she grew to womanhood.
On May 14, 1913, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Lloyd Leeper. Born to this union were four daughters and three sons.
Together with her husband and children, Faye was loyal and devoted to her church, teaching Sunday school, serving as Deaconess and enjoying her activities in Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was honored as a long time member of 57 years at Early Chapel’s Centennial celebration in 1975.
Faye moved to Winterset in 1957. Later she took up active membership in the First Christian Church where she was later named as Deaconess Emeritus.
Faye was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. One of her greatest joys was to have her family together.
Her husband Lloyd, two daughters, Evelyn and Mildred preceded her in death.
She will be missed by her family: Harold and Darlene of Avon Lake; Richard and Ramona of Carlisle; Russell and Shirley of rural Earlham; Irene and Lloyd Clague of rural Earlham and Ruby and Wayne Robinson of Winterset, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a host of relatives and friends.
