ANNA TIERNAN, 72, DIED LAST FRIDAY

Long-Time Resident Died at Hospital Following Week's Illness

Anna Tiernan, a widely-known resident of the Irish settlement northeast of Winterset, died at the Winterset hospital last Friday. Death followed a stroke of apoplexy suffered just one week previously.

Miss Tiernan was 72 years of age, and had lived all of her life, with the exception of a few years in Denver, Colo., in this county. She was born in Madison county, the daughter of John and Ellen Tiernan.

Nearest surviving relatives are her two brothers, Pete Tiernan and James T. Tiernan, both of this county.

Funeral services were conducted Monday from St. Patrick's Catholic church in Lee township, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. J. J. Reynolds. Burial was made in the cemetery there.
