HERMAN LEWIS, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Herman H. Lewis, 81, a pharmacist and owner of Lewis Prescription Pharmacy in Mesa, died May 5, at Casa Delmar in Scottsdale.

Born in Des Moines, Mr. Lewis moved to Arizona in 1942 from Winterset, where he operated Lewis Pharmacy for 10 years. He was a Scottsdale resident.

He was a registered pharmacist for more than 60 years, and owner and operator of Lewis Prescription Pharmacy for 21 years.

Mr. Lewis was former president of the Arizona Pharmaceutical Association, a charter member of Mesa Elks Lodge, the White Mountain County Club and Mesa Country Club, and a member of Knights of Columbus, the St. Mary's Dads' Club, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Scottsdale.

Survivors include his wife, Ting of Scottsdale; three daughters, Peg Sudbrack of Scottsdale, and Bix Stiteler and Janet Ryan, both of Phoenix; one son, James H. of Scottsdale; one sister, Gwenevere Kleier of Hastings, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Entombment was at St. Francis Cemetery.
