Ira A. Sweet, a long-time resident of Madison county, died Tuesday, March 19, 1957, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bessie Panigot, of St. Joseph, Mo. He was 86 years of age.
Mr. Sweet farmed for many years in the Winterset and Patterson communities, but for the past eight years had spent his winters with his daughter, and his summers with his son, S J. Sweet of St. Charles.
In addition to the two children, he leaves 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held from the Stamey chapel in St. Josseph, with burial at Union Star, Mo.
