MORTUARY - Nancy Ann Swearingen

Nancy Ann Fife, daughter of Samuel and Frances Fife was born near St. Charles, Madison county, Ia., and died at her home in Truro, Ia., January 20, 1920, aged 62 years, 10 months and 12 days. She was converted at the Ohio Methodist church at the age of eighteen years. She later united with the Christian church of this place and remained a faithful member until her death.

She was married to Daniel Swearingen December 11, 1877. To this union was born three daughters, Mrs. Ida Miller of Truro, Iowa, Mrs. Grace Rankin of near Winterset, Iowa and Mrs. Flossie Dodd who preceded her mother to the better world a little over a year ago, leaving two little sons, the eldest of which was taken into their home and lovingly cared for by the grandparents.

Annie was always quiet and unassuming with that gentleness of christian character which endeared her to all with whom she associated. She was never happier than when sacrificing her own pleasures to advance those of others. She was loved by all and was dearest to those who knew her best. All of her life has been spent around Truro with the exception of three years after their marriage which was spent in Phillips county, Kansas.

She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, two daughters, seven grandchildren, six sisters, two brothers, other relatives and a host of friends.
