Wednesday, April 11, 1973Ivol Neal Stump, the son of Jacob and Bell Lanning Stump was born near Van Meter, Ia. Jan. 14, 1896 and passed away April 8, 1973 in the Iowa Methodist Hospital at the age of 77 years.
At the time of his death he lived on a farm near Redfield, Iowa. For six years he lived in Madison County, the rest of his life was spent in Dallas County.
He received his formal education in a country school in Dallas County. He farmed for many years, but at the time of his retirement in 1961 he was an employee of Iowa Pack in Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one great grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, two sons, Wesley of La Mesa, California and Dale of Rialto, California, one daughter, Margery (Mrs. Freeman Johnson) of Hayden Lake, Idaho; one stepson, James Witham of Harper Ferry, Ia.; one brother, Eldon of the Masonic Home in Perry; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth French of Van Meter and Mrs. Winifred Caldwell of Adel, 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held from the Fishers Funeral Home in Van Meter April 11th, with Pastor C. G. Sparks officiating. Burial was in the Thornton Cemetery April 13th.
