John D. Stuart, a resident of Madison county for many years, died at Winterset Friday, March 27, 1953, at the age of 82 years.

Mr. Stuart was born at Topeka, Kan., on March 10, 1871, a son of Koonrad and Matilda Stuart. When he was four years old he moved to Adelphi, in Jasper county, Iowa. Later he came to the St. Charles community, where his active years were spent. For the past four years he had been in a nursing home at Winterset.

Nearest surviving relative is a sister, Mary Keener, of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Elm Grove church, conducted by the Rev. Earl Travis of Winterset. Burial was made in the King cemetery near St. Charles.
