Thomas J. Jackson, one of Madison county's prominent farmers for many years, died suddenly this Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1959, at his farm home west of Winterset. He was 66 years of age.
Mr. Jackson had lived in Madison county since 1902. He was a native of Senica, Ill., where he was born Aug. 4, 1893, a son of James and Mary Fielding Jackson. His life was spent in farming.
He was married to Letha Addy of Winterset, Sept. 25, 1923. She preceded him in death in 1947.
He served in the U. S. armed forces in World War I, and was assistant service officer of the American Legion. He was a member of the West Star church, also.
He leaves a son, Jack Jackson of near Winterset; two grandchildren, Vincent and Julie Jackson; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Poole of Fowler, Ind.
Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Weed, assisted by the Rev. William Morehouse, pastor of the West Star church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery with military honors.
