MARJORIE EMERY Died at Age 85

Marjorie M. Emery, a resident of Winterset for one and one-half years, died last Thursday, November 22, 1973, at the age of 85 years.

Mrs. Emery was born in Des Moines on December 10, 1887, the daughter of David and Jessie Bird Miles. The wife of Edwin Emery, who preceded her in death, Mrs. Emery devoted her life to school teaching and as a housewife.

Mrs. Emery was affiliated with the Congregational church. She was a member of the P.E.O. of Marshalltown.

She is survived by one brother, Blaine Miles of Winterset, and two sisters: Mrs. A. M. (Lillian) Smith of Rockford, Illinois; and Mrs. W. M. (Mary) Totman of Marshalltown, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 1973 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur officiating. Burial was in Ottumwa Cemetery, Ottumwa, Iowa.
