Vancine B. Koehler, 74, of Hood River, died Nov. 2, 1997 at the Hood River Care Center. No formal services were held. A private family committal will take place.
She was born on April 22, 1923, in Winterset, to Glenn and Mary (Vance) Barr. She moved to Hood River in 1963. She worked as a homemaker and as a seamstress, co-owning the business "Needles and Pine" in Hood River. She was an active member of the Soroptmists, American Legion Auxiliary and attended the Tucker Road Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son Michael and husband Charles, who both died in 1996.
She is survived by her sisters, Ilene Nunamaker of Hood River, Marilyn Wicker of Prairie City; one daughter, Diana Bachmann of Crystal Lake; son Dennis Koehler of Bellevue, Wash.; five grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Elks Eye Clinic of the American Legion's Children Fund through Anderson Funeral Home, 1401 Belmont Road, Hood River, Oregon, 97031.
