Michael Koehler, Indianola

Michael A. Koehler, 56, of Indianola, died of emphysema, March 2, 1996 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services were today, Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Peterson's Funeral Home in Indianola. The cremains will be buried at a later date.

He was born in Winterset to Charles and Vancine Koehler. He had lived in Indianola for the past 26 years and was an auto mechanic for Watters Autoland, Southtown Chrysler and Holiday Chrysler Plymouth. He had served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Joyce (Speer) Koehler; his parents of Hood River, Ore.; one brother, Dennis K. Koehler of Bellevue, Wash.; and one sister, Diana S. Bachmann of Algona.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Patterson United Methodist Church or the Indianola First United Methodist Church.

Michael A. Koehler, 56, of Indianola died of emphysema Saturday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peterson Funeral Home, and cremation will follow.

Mr. Koehler was born in Winterset and moved to Indianola 26 years ago. He had worked as an auto mechanic for Watters Autoland, Southtown Chrysler and Holiday Chrysler Plymouth. He was a veteran of the Air Force and a member of Patterson United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce; his father, Charles, and his mother, Vancine Koehler, both of Hood River, Ore.; a brother, Dennis of Bellevue, Wash.; a sister, Diane Bachmann of Algona; and parents-in-law, Ernest and Mina (Quick) Speer of Winterset.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church of Indianola First United Methodist Church.
