Dr. Edson C. Knight, 84, of Marshalltown, died Nov. 16, 1994 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services were Nov. 18 at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Chapel with the Rev. Gregory Elicey of the First Congregational Church and the Rev. Bobby Shomo of the Center Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial was at the Penn Cemetery in Earlham.
He was born Sept. 28, 1910 in Dexter and was the son of Edson and Eldora (Leeper) Knight. He married Thelma Wambold on April 21, 1934 and lived in Winterset prior to moving to Marshalltown in 1947. He was a longtime, widely known Marshalltown area doctor. He was a member of the First Congregational Church; Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Altoona; life member of the Iowa Medical Society; U. S. Golf Association; life member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association; U. S. National Seniors Golf Association; North American Medical Golf Association; Past President of Elmwood Country Club and the Masons.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and two brothers.
Surviving relatives include his wife; and two sons, Ronald Knight of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Bradley Knight of Texas; and four grandchildren.
