Veronica C. Klug, Winterset

Veronica C. Klug, 90, died of heart failure Dec. 31, 2001, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation Center in Winterset.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Visitation with the family will be held from 4-8 p.m. today (Wednesday Jan. 2) at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset where a Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.

Veronica Klug was born April 5, 1911, to Mathias and Frances (Heimes) Burbach of Hartington, Neb. She received her education in the Hartington School District. On April 6, 1934, she married Vincent Barney Klug in Bow Valley, Neb. In 1959, she moved to Madison County. A homemaker, she also cleaned several houses in Winterset, along with the St. Joseph Catholic Church Rectory. Veronica was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset and the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, a granddaughter, two sisters, and five brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Bush and Vicki Cameron (husband Ray) both of Winterset; five sons, Leon Klug, (wife Linda) of Creston, Keith Klug (wife Mary) of Des Moines; Lyle Klug (wife Mindi) of Norwalk and Terry Klug and Sid Klug (wife Jane) both of Winterset; a sister, Marcella Kniefl of Ponca, Neb.; two brothers, Roman Burbach (wife Roseline) of Hartington, Neb., and Hubert Burbach of Watertown, Wis.; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church or West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation Activity Fund.
