JAMES A. TUCKER, Ohio

James Arnold Tucker, 74, of Monroe, Ohio, died March 15, 2000, at his home.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 20, at Breitbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home in Middletown, Ohio. Burial was a Woodside Cemetery.

James Tucker was born Nov. 1, 1925, to Charles Ellsworth Sr. and Catherine Dell (Givan) Tucker of Winterset. A 1943 graduate of Winterset High School, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and was an aviation cadet when World War II ended. Following the war, he received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Duke University in 1948. James worked as a project engineer for Manchester Machine Company/Voith Sulzer Paper Technology for 28 years before retiring in 1991. He had resided in the Monroe area since 1963 and was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a stepson.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Netherly) Tucker, a son, Gary Tucker (wife Melissa) of Liberty Township, Ohio; a daughter, Karen Silber (husband Brad) of Cincinnati, Ohio; two stepsons, James Albi (wife Sue) of Middletown, Ohio, and Lonnie Albi (wife Cheryl) of Rochester, N.Y.; a brother, Charles Tucker, Jr. (wife Sue) of Winterset; and four grandchildren.
