DEAN COCHRAN TUCKER, Winterset

Services for Dean Cochran Tucker, 72, Winterset, who died May 8, 1985, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Saturday, May 11 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Shaull and the Rev. Jim Morris officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County on Jan. 21, 1913, he was the son of Ira and Mattie Cochran Tucker. He spent his lifetime in Madison Cuonty and retired from farming in the fall of 1966.

On Nov. 21, 1937, he married Dorothy Brower at Wyoming, Iowa. Mr. Tucker did volunteer work at the Challenge Center for more than 10 years.

Survivors include his wife; sons, John of Cedar Falls, Paul of Redfield, Wayne of Barney and Michael of Creston; a daughter, Aileen Burrell of Corydon; brothers, Blaine of Branson, Mo., Keith of Bethany, Mo., and Max of Macksburg; sisters, Ruth Tucker of Winterset, Helen Walter of Ft. Collins, Colo., Eleanor Wickstrand of Portland, Ore., Kathryn Kyner of Boulder, Colo., and Jean Perkins of Des Moines; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
