Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset for Gaylord S. Kitt of Winterset, whose death occurred Wednesday, Nov. 14, at University hospital in Iowa City.

Mr. Kitt was a life-time resident of Madison county. He farmed near Earlham for many years, before moving to Winterset.

He was born July 31, 1881 in this county, a son of George and Emma Kitt, and was 81 years of age at his death. He was married Feb. 16, 1916, to Kathryn B. Hemphill. Her death occurred in 1956.

He leaves four brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha McKirgin of Des Moines, Guy Kitt of Omaha, Jess Kitt of Longmont, Colo., Mrs. Stella Wolverton of Conrad, Mont., Mrs. Daisie Irwin of Los Angeles, Ray Kitt of Orient, and John R. Kitt of Des Moines.

The Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church, conducted the funeral services Saturday. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
