Services Held For Kirscher

A lifetime resident of Winterset, Josephine Ruth Kirscher, 80, died Saturday, May 26 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. The daughter of Fred and Jessie Snyder Mardis, she was born September 19, 1898, in Des Moines.

A member of the First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Kirscher had worked as a secretary in her father's coal office. On July 3, 1928, in Brainard, Minnesota, she married Martin Kirscher who preceded her in death on March 31, 1966.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Helen Nichols.

Survivors include her daughter, Josephine Eckstein of Winterset, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Phill Hall officiating. Burial was made at Winterset Cemetery.
