MRS. H. C. HILBERRY DIES

Mrs. H. C. Hilberry, life-long resident of Madison county, died at a nursing home in Winterset, Thursday, March 9th at the age of 68 years.

Mrs. Hilberry was the former Mary Edith Pinckney, daughter of Joseph and Mary Pinckney, pioneers of this county. She was born in this county, April 4, 1875 one of a family of 12 children; three of whom died in infancy. Of the eight brothers, only two survive her.

She was married April 22, 1894, to Henry Comp Hilberry. Had she lived only a few weeks longer, they would have been married 50 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Hilberry were the parents of four children. Mr. Hilbery and son Rodney of Ida Grove, and Audrey of Macksburg survive. A son James Glen, died in infancy and Ruth passed away in October, 1938. She also leaves two grandchildren, Donald and Dorothy Hilberry, and two brothers, Joseph Pinckney of Winterset and George Pinckney of Macksburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Hilberry united with the Macksburg Methodist church soon after their marriage, and she was always interested in the church and Sunday school, and attended as long as her health would permit.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. A. R. Weed of Tingley, assisted by the Rev. J. E. Englund, Saturday, March 11, at the Methodist church in Macksburg, and interment was made in the Moon cemetery.
