Wednesday, February 21, 1951MRS. JANE SIMMONS Dies at 87 years
Mrs. Jane Simmons, a resident of Winterset since 1920, died here Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1951, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ross Rogers. She was 87 years of age.
Mrs. Simmons was a native of England, where she was born at Connor Downs, in Cornwall, on Sept. 9, 1863, a daughter of William and Grace Moon.
She was married to George Simmons and came to the United States to join her husband in Utah in 1908. In 1920 she came to Winterset and this community had been her home since that time, with the exceeption of about a year back in England.
Mrs. Simmons' husband died 35 years ago. She is survived by their two daughters, Mrs. Flora Fairholm of Peru and Mrs. Anna Rogers of Winterset; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She had been a member of the English Episcopal church since early life.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Sherman Hanson, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
