ROGERS FUNERAL RITES HELD FRIDAY

Death Came to Member of Pioneer Family Here on Feb. 22

Funeral services for James A. Rogers, who died at the Winterset hospital on Tuesday of last week were held last Friday from Anderson's Funeral home. The Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ, had charge of the services, and burial was made in the King cemetery.

Mr. Rogers was a life-long resident of this community. He was born near Winterset on April 14, 1864, and was 79 years old at the time of his death. He was the son of William and Margret Rogers, pioneer settlers here.

He was married Jan. 12, 1908, to Mary Brown. They were the parents of ten children. Two sons and a daughter preceded him in death, and his wife died in 1937.

He is survived by his five children, Mrs. Fred Bruett and Mrs. James Tuttle of Winterset, Arthur, William and Louis Rogers, who are serving with the U.S. army, and Hallie and Marie Rogers at home. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. C. W. Crawford of Winterset; and three brothers, Andrew Rogers of Winterset, Harry Rogers of Cottonwood, Calif., and Olley Rogers of Denver, Colo. He also leaves four grandchildren.
