Thomas E. King

Thomas Edward King, son of William and Permelia King, was born in Menard county, Illinois, Nov. 1, 1858 and departed this life at his home in Truro, April 23, 1924. He with his parents, moved to Iowa in 1860. He was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Monroe, Nov. 13, 1882. To this union were born eleven children, six girls and five boys, one boy dying in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Rankin, passed away March 5, 1919. He united with the Methodist church when a young man. He leaves to mourn, his wife, nine children, 18 grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, and many friends. The funeral was conducted from the home April 24th, by Rev. Calkins and the body was laid to rest in the Hartman cemetery near Truro.
