Burial Here For WAYNE WRIGHT

Wayne Marian Wright, a long time resident of the Granger area, died November 22, 1975, at the Dallas County Hospital, Perry, Iowa. He was 79 years of age.

Mr. Wright was born September 3, 1896 near Stuart, Iowa. He was the son of Frank Wright and Elizabeth Bailey Wright and was married to Helen Smith of Winterset on December 5, 1921.

He was an interior decorator and painter for many years.

Mr. Wright was a Veteran of World War I and a charter member of the American Legion, a past commander of the Granger Post and a past county commander.

In 1974 he was presented a life memberships by the Granger Post No. 717. He also was active in civic affairs.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright were the parents of one son, Philip, who was killed in combat in World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Granger and one sister, Mrs. Gladys DeVault of Sebastopol, Ca.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his son, his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Novoember 24 at the First United Methodist Church in Granger with the Rev. Davis Weible officiating.

Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery with military services by the American Legion Post No. 717 of Granger.
