Norma L. Key, Winterset

Funeral services for Norma L. Key, 57, were held Tues. March 23 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Mrs. Key died of cancer on March 20, 1992 in Winterset. Burial was at North McDonald Cemetery.

She was born in Madison County on October 3, 1935, to Harold and Vergie (Huss) Mapes. She married Vern Key June 10, 1978 in Lorimor. A lifelong resident of Madison County, she worked as a certified nurse's assistant for 28 years at Bethesda Care Center in Winterset. She attended Foursquare Gospel Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, an infant grandon and her ex-husband, Gail Smith.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Rod Smith of Ames and Kevin Smith of DeSoto; a daughter, Twila Smith of Martensdale; two brothers, Glenn Mapes and Gail Mapes, both of Des Moines; a sister, Shennie McDonald of Winterset and four grandchildren.
