May 9, 1962LEROY J. KERR, SR. DIES IN COLORADO
Leroy J. Kerr, Sr., a resident of Madison and Adair counties most of his life, died recently at Arvada, Colo., where he had been visiting a daughter, Mrs. Helene V. McAdow. His death occurred at her home.
Mr. Kerr was 82 years of age at his death. He was born in Adair County, Iowa, on Feb. 8, 1880, a son of William and Margaret Brown Kerr. He was married Feb. 19, 1902 to Maybelle C. Hall of Winterset. They farmed in Madison and Adair counties until 1950, when they retired and moved to Cromwell. In 1958 they moved to Colorado, remaining there but a short time before going on to California, where they made their home until last February when they returned to Colorado.
He and his wife celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary on Feb. 19 of this year.
Surviving are his wife; the daughter, Mrs. McAdow of Arvada, Colo., and a son Leroy J. Kerr Jr. of Garden Grove, Calif., eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in Denver with burial at Golden, Colo.
