Services for Nellie A. Tollinger of Van Meter were held May 3 at the Chamberlain-Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter. Mrs. Tollinger died May 1 at the age of 82.
Born Nov. 23, 1899 in Union county, she was the daughter of Charles and Tressa Farris Shepherd.
On October 11, 1918 she married Byron C. Tollinger.
Mrs. Tollinger was a member of the Winterset Chapter of Eastern Star and a former member of Winterset Church of Christ. She was a licensed practical nurse at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; a brother; and a son, Robert. Survivors include her husband; a daugher, Dorothy Betsinger of Red Oak; two sisters, Mary Ruckman of Afton and Mae Crawford of Des Moines; and a brother, Charles Shepherd, of Shenandoah.
Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
