GEORGE RIPPEY RITES HELD HERE TUESDAY
Long-Time Resident Here Died Saturday in Wyoming
George Rippey, a resident of Madison county for most of his life, died last Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Glenn Hayden of Gillette, Wyo. He was 77 years of age.
Mr. Rippey was born in Madison county, Nov. 23, 1868, the son of Joseph and Marinda Thornburg Rippey. He lived all his life in this county until nine years ago, when he went to Wyoming to live with his daughter. His active years were spent in farming in the Ord neighborhood and in Scott township.
He was married Dec. 24, 1894, to Lulu Clark. They were the parents of two children, the present Mrs. Hayden, and C. R. Rippey of Topeka, Kan. His wife died in 1933.
In addition to the two children he leaves seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from Anderson's home for funerals in Winterset this Tuesday, in charge of the Rev. W. P. Gordon, minister of the United Presbyterian church here. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
