FRITZ A. TOPPENBERG, Des Moines

Fritz A. Toppenberg, 73, of Des Moines died of leukemia June 13, 1988 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services were held June 16 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and burial was in Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. Toppenberg was born in Boone and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He retired in 1982 as owner of Toppenberg Machine Tool Sales and had been a member of the Presbyterian church, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Acanthus Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Izaak Walton League. He was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Bell; a son, John of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Elmer of Ames, two sisters, Marie Adams of Bethel Island, Calif., and Mildred Clark of Boone; and two grandchildren.
