FRED D. BOYD OF WINTERSET PASSES

Funeral Services Held on Wednesday With Burial in Des Moines

Fred D. Boyd, a resident of this community for most of his life, died at his home in Winterset Monday. He was 84 years of age.

Mr. Boyd was born at Lima, Ohio, on March 19, 1861, the son of Silas and Nancy Boyd. In 1881 he came to Madison county with his parents, and most of his life was spent in this community, and in Des Moines.

He was a member of a large family of brothers and sisters. Four of his brothers, and a sister preceded him in death. His nearest surviving relative is a brother, Bert Boyd of Winterset. He also leaves three nephews and two nieces.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. this Wednesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong. Burial was to be made in Des Moines.
