Former Madison County Resident Dies

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 5th in the Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames for Max Jorgensen, who passed away May 2nd in the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, after a short illness.

Mr. Jorgensen was born July 16, 1907 at Kimballton, Iowa. He was united in marriage February 1, 1930 to Amy Dawn Armstrong of Earlham, who preceded him in death in 1961.

To this union were born four children, two sons, Marlin of Ames and Marvin, who died in infancy, and two daughters, Mrs. Ross (Naomi) Weuve of State Center and Mrs. Richard (Judy) Sowers of Story City.

In 1968 he was married to Stella Westvold, who passed away in 1975.

Mr. Jorgensen, whose occupation was farmingt, resided in Jackson and Penn townships in Madison county until 1940 when he, with his family, moved to the Ames community, where he continued to farm until his death.

Surviving, besides his three children, are seven grandchildren, one great grandson, one brother, Ralph of Ankeny, two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Thelma) Thomas of Afton and Mrs. Leona Young of Dayton, Ohio.
