ORVIE THURMAN, Lorimor

Services for Orvie Thurman, 74, Lorimor, who died Sept. 18, 1984, at his home, were held Friday, Sept. 21, at the Lorimor Baptist Church with the Rev. George Thurman officiating. Burial was at the Lorimor Cemetery.

Born on Sept. 13, 1910, he was the son of Jesse Thurman and Ada Moody. He married Fern F. Stalcup on Nov. 30, 1935. Mr. Thurman lived in Lorimor until 1956 when he moved to Oregon. He lived there until he retired in 1976 and returned to Lorimor and did carpentry work. He clerked for a lumber and supply store in Oregon.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mrs. Francis (Debbie) Shields of Thayer, Mrs. Florian (Marilyn) Davis and Betty Thurman, both of Forest Grove, Ore., and Jean Branham of Portland, Ore; five grandchildren; brothers, Leonard Thurman of Kearney, Neb., and Everett Thurman of Lorimor; and sisters Erma Morris of Osceola and Wilma Barker of Winterset.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers and a grandson.
