Charlie Thurman, 80, of rural Murray, died last Wednesday at his residence northwest of Murray.
His funeral was held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lorimor Church of God with Rev. Ben Turner officiating. Burial was in the Union cemetery at Murray.
Thurman was born Nov. 3, 1897, northwest of Murray in Clarke county to George and Phoebe Moore Thurman. On March 24, 1927 he married Elnora Loomis in Grand River Township of Madison county.
He is survived by his wife, Elnora, two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Phyllis) Cima of Menlo Park, California, Mrs. William (Marilyn) Fritchen of Campbell, California, a son, Eldon E. Thurman of Findlay, Ohio, six grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Mina) Burgan of Murray, and a brother, Alva Thurman of Lincolnville, Maine.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He was a lifetime resident of the family farm northwest of Murray and was a farmer and carpenter before retiring in 1973.
