Gladys May Jones, 87, of Winterset Care Center South and a former Truro resident, died of a heart ailment Jan. 12, 2000, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Congregational Christian United Church of Christ in Truro with the Rev. Bob Epperson of Winterset officiating. Burial was at Earlham cemetery.
Gladys Jones was born May 24, 1912 to Henry Albert and Effie May (Hoadley) England of rural Earlham. She was educated in the Earlham schools. She married George Ronald Jones on April 18, 1936 in Earlham. A homemaker and long-time resident of Truro, Gladys was a member of the Congregational Christian United Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one brother.
She is survived by three sons, John Jones, of Apache, Okla., Lester Jones (wife Marlene) of Des Moines and George A. Jones (wife Beverly) of Sumner; 14 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Congregational Christian United Church of Christ in Truro.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Home in Truro.
