Killed by Lightning

H. H. Hudson, who was a blacksmith living at Compton’s mill, was struck by lightning and killed about four miles from Fontanelle last Tuesday. Mr. Hudson, Mr. King, his father-in-law, and another man were riding in a wagon at the time. The other two men were both knocked out of the wagon, and both horses knocked down. Mr. King has not yet entirely recovered from the stroke. Mr. Hudson was a member of the Winterset Odd-Fellows and was buried by them in our cemetery on Wednesday.
