1962MRS. ESTELLA JONES DIED LAST THURSDAY
Mrs. Estella M. Jones of St. Charles died at a nursing home there Thursday, Dec. 28 at the age of 81 years.
Mrs. Jones was a resident of Madison county most of her life. She was born here June 13, 1880, a daughter of John M. and Adaline Smothers Carter.
She was married Feb. 14, 1917 to Perry Jones. His death occurred in 1959.
She was a member of the St. Charles Christian church.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Pearl Peters of Peru; and a brother, Oscar Carter of St. Charles.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the St. Charles Christian church, in charge of the Rev. James Farrell. Burial was made in Blair Chapel cemetery.
