Mrs. P. M. McNamara, well known Madison county resident, died at her home west of Winterset Sunday, Jan. 19th after a several months illness. Mrs. McNamara, who was 84 years of age, had fallen at her home in October, and spent several months in the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, for treatment of the fracture, but was brought to her home in December, where she was improving. She succumbed however, to a sudden heart attack Sunday afternoon.

Ella E. Burke, daughter of Patrick and Katherine Burke, was born Nov. 3, 1862, at Olyphant, Penn. When she was 14 years of age, her parents came to Madison county. A short time later they moved to Des Moines. It was in Des Moines, that she was married to P. M. McNamara, member of a pioneer Madison county family. They continued to reside in Des Moines until in 1908, when they moved to the farm in Lincoln township, two miles west of Winterset, which has since been their home.

The deceased is survived by their two children: Miss Mary McNamara, who resided in the home, and Ernest J. McNamara of Winterset. She also leaves two grandchildren, Katherine and Michael McNamara.

The Rev. J. J. Judge conducted her funeral services at the St. Joseph Catholic church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, and burial was made in the St. Ambrose cemetery in Des Moines. Pallbearers were: Ray Leach, George Bass, John Ryan, John Breen, John E. Cunningham and Clarence Hogan.
