Native of Switzerland and Long-Time Resident of Truro Area
Mrs. Emma F. Jones, long-time resident of the Truro community, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, at her home in Truro. She was 84 years of age.
Mrs. Jones was a native of Switzerland, where she was born July 21, 1879, a daughter of Lewis S. and Marie Louisa Crusaz Gonseth. Most of her life had been spent in and near Truro.
She was married at Peru on Nov. 4, 1903 to John F. Jones. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Congregational Christian church.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death also by one son. She is survived by seven children; Edd Jones of Truro; Mrs. Pearl Billings of Cedar Falls, William Jones of Ontario, Calif., Mrs. Elsie Cochran of Long Beach, Calif., Loyd Jones of Indianola, and Mrs. Goldie Baker and Arthur Jones of Cedar Falls. She also leaves six brothers and sisters; Alexander Gonseth of Milton Free Water, Ore., Mrs. Marguerite Jones of Covina, Calif., Frank Gonseth of Osceola, Charles Gonseth of Beegs, Okla, Mrs. Lena Bivens of Locust Grove, Okla., and Mrs. Florence Vonis of San Francisco.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Congregational Christian church in Truro, in charge of the Rev. James Nicholson. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
