Edward W. Jones Dies at 91 Years

Edward W. Jones of Winterset, a resident of Madison county since 1948, died Saturday, Sept. 23 at Horton's Nursing home here. He was 91 years of age.

Mr. Jones was a native of Audubon where he was born Dec. 30, 1880, a son of George and Lucinda Jones. His active life was spent in farming in Iowa and Nebraska. He retired in 1948 and moved to Winterset.

He was married in 1903 to Eletta Cox, whose death occurred in 1925. In 1930 he was married to Myrtle Dean. Her death occurred in 1968.

He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and of the Masonic lodge.

Mr. Jones is survived by two sons, Millard E. Jones of Princeton, Ill., and Walter E. Jones of Winterset; seven grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. One son, Donald Jones and a daughter, Mrs. Doris Hetrick, both died in 1968.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Charles Updike, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare church. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
