Josephine Johnston, Urbandale

Josephine Johnston, 94, of Urbandale, died of pneumonia, June 19, 1996 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were June 21 at the Patterson United Methodist Church. The Rev. Don Frank officiated the ceremony and burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.

She was born in Des Moines on May 2, 1902 to Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis. She married Denver Johnston on Oct. 16, 1926. She was a homemaker and had lived most of her life in the Patterson area. She was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; and two sisters.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mary Lou DeBok and husband Herb of Urbandale and Patricia Delury and husband Gregory of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
