Services for Veda Lorene Johnson, 93, Winterset, who died Dec. 29, at the Bethesda Care Center where she resided, were held Monday, Jan. 2, at the United Methodist Church in Truro with the Rev. Tom Webster officiating. Burial was at the Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was born July 5, 1894 in Warren County, the daughter of James and Rebecca Taylor Garrison. She was married Feb. 28, 1917 at Indianola to Ralph W. Johnson. The couple had six children.

Mrs. Johnson, a former resident of the Truro and Osceola area, was a housewife and a member of the United Methodist Women and the guild at the Methodist church in Truro.

Survivors include sons, Doyle and wife Doris of Truro, Kenneth and wife Shirley of Des Moines and Herbert and wife Elva of St. Mary's, Mo.; a daughter, Edith Mease and husband Ival of St. Charles; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur Garrison of Indianola; and two daughters-in-law, Phyllis Johnson of Des Moines and Garaldine Johnsson of Bentonville, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons and three sisters.
