LARS JOHNSON OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Lars P. Johnson of St. Charles died at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines Sunday, Aug. 23. He was 66 years of age. Death resulted from a heart ailment.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Sweden. He came to the United States when he was 17 years of age, and lived in Des Moines until 1922. For the last 31 years he lived in St. Charles where he owned and operated an apple orchard.

He was a veteran of the first World war, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Anna Johnson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the St. Charles Methodist church.
