Myra Loraine Thompson, 96, died June 11, 2001, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.

Graveside services were held today at 10:30 a.m. at Lorimor Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating.

Loraine Thompson as born Jan. 15, 1905, to Ralph and Opha (Henkle) Lathrop of Arispe. She married Merrel D. Thompson on Dec. 20, 1923, in Creston. A resident of Madison County since 1937, Loraine was a homemaker and member of the Fellowship Church in Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, a brother, a sister and three grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Dean R. Thompson of Jenkintown, Pa., and Paul L. Thompson of New Virginia; two daughters, Merlene Dovenbarger of Benedict, Neb., and Delene Honnold of Winterset; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
