DON E. THOMPSON, Winterset

Memorial graveside services for Don E. Thompson, 64, were held Tues., Aug. 11, at Hebron Cemetery in rural Greenfield, with the Rev. J. Larry Valley officiating. He died Sat., Aug. 8, 1992 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines.

He was born March 18, 1928 to Walter R. and Helen M. Laughlin Thompson in Adair County. He married Velma Endres on October 25, 1975 at Lynnville. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He lived in Greenfield before moving to Winterset. He had retired from driving a truck for Coopers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife; daughter, Cheryl Rote and husband Jon, of Garland, Texas; a sister, Mary Hanke of Des Moines; two brothers, Wilbur Thompson and Bob Thompson, both of Indianola; a stepdaughter, Pam Needham of Newton; a stepson, Larry Daughenbaugh of Newton; seven step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
