Mrs. Gladys Gordon Cooper died at a hospital in Des Moines at 7 o’clock this morning. She was stricken with intestinal flu and peritonitis developed, causing her death. Mrs. Cooper was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gordon of Winterset, and spent her entire life here until after marriage. Besides her parents, brothers and sisters, she leaves to mourn her early departure, her husband and a little daughter, some two or three years of age. Her death comes as a shock to the friends here and the deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family. Burial will be made here.

Gladys Katherine Cooper, daughter of William and Anna Gordon, was born at Winterset, Feb. 4, 1900. She spent her girlhood days in Winterset. She attended the Winterset high school. She was married to Earl Cooper, Sept. 22, 1917 and they made their home in Des Moines for three years. Mr. Cooper then enlisted in the United States navy, and for nearly three years they made their home in Chicago. For the past three years they have been in Des Moines.
Mrs. Cooper united with the Winterset Baptist church when a girl. She was a sweet, lovable girl and with her bright happy smile was always a ray of sunshine. After a brief illness she passed away in Des Moines on March 26, 1925, aged 25 years, 1 month and 22 days.
She leaves her husband and two year old daughter, Annabelle; her father and mother, two brothers, Charles and Harold Gordon of Winterset; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Wilkins of Chicago and Madeline, in the home, besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Winterset Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Stanley A. Gillet. The body was laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
