Winterset Madisonian - Wed., April 4, 1945

William M. Winter, a Madison county farmer since 1903, died at his home near Truro early last week at the age of 90 years.

Mr. Winter was a native of Delhi, N. Y., where he was born Sept. 29, 1854. He was educated in the Walton academy, and as a young man came to Iowa where he engaged in business at Sibley. He was married to Margaret Wright on April 29, 1886. They were the parents of four children, all of whom survive.

He later spent 10 years on a farm near Little Rock, Ia., coming to Truro in 1908, where he spent the remainder of his life.

His wife died in 1941. He is survived by his four children, James W. Winter of Norwalk, William M. Winter of Truro, Malcolm D. Winter of Miles City, Mont. and Margaret L. Winter at home. He also leaves three grandchildren; and a brother, David D. Winter of Hisegia, S. Dak.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday of last week from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, in charge of the Rev. Clarence Moore. Burial was made in the Field cemetery.
