Funeral services for Stacey Lynn Thomas, 17, were held Monday, June 8 at the First Presbyterian Church, Sac City, with the Rev. Lari Grubbs officiating. Miss Thomas died June 6 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, following an accident.

She was born January 11, 1975 in Ames to Arnold and Deborah (Eigenheer) Thomas, was baptized June 1, 1975 at the Wesley Chapel Church in Madison County and was confirmed in 1989 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sac City. She had been a student in the Sac City Community Schools where she had won poetry awards and was in the high school choir. She had just moved to Iowa City and planned to begin a course of study in cosmetology in July.

Surviving are her parents, a brother, Michael, and a sister, Stephanie, all of Sac City, her grandparents, Jack and Florence Thomas of Winterset and Kenneth and Sally Eigenheer of Orient; and great-grandmothers, Florence Moss of Fontanelle and Edna Aikin of Marshalltown.

Farber and Otteman Funeral Home, Sac City, handled arrangements; and burial was at Oakland Cemetery, Sac City.
