Goldie J. Thomas, 91, died March 27, 1994 at the Rowley Masonic Home in Perry. Funeral services will be today, March 30, 1994 at 10:30 a.m. at the Greenfield United Methodist Church. The Rev. J. Larry Vallery of Greenfield will be officiating. Burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 28, 1902 in Madison County to John F. and Anna Jane (Given) Handley. She married Vern Thomas in Creston on January 25, 1922. She graduated from the Winterset High School and taught in a one room country school. She was a member of the Kasson Church near Lorimor; the Orient United Methodist Church, and the Greenfield United Methodist Church. She was a fifty year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Orient Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister; and one brother.

Surviving relatives include four children, twins, Gene Thomas and wife Mary Susan of Orient, and Imogene Wilmeth and husband Orlo of Des Moines, and daughters, Annadell Erb of Marshalltown and Roberta Stoddard and husband Lee of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaugher; and several nieces and nephews.
