Dale H. Thomas of Palo Alto, Calif., formerly of Winterset, died Monday, December 10, 1979, at the age of 79. He was the founder of the Dale H. Thomas Auto Tops and Upholstery Co. in Palo Alto from 1932 until his retirement in 1966.
The son of George and Ella Thomas, he was born on a farm near Winterset. He attended Winterset High School and on July 30, 1922 was married to Florence Edwards in Winterset. Mr. Thomas had lived in California for the past 54 years and was active in Palo Alto sportsmen's organizations.
He is survived by his wife Florence; a son, Dr. Serman Thomas of Bakersfield, Calif.; a brother, Vern Thomas of Greenfield; a sister, Mamie Hammans of Mason City, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harry and Floyd.
